Reginald Wayne Alexander Howard was born February 4, 1937 to Alexander and Jessie (Murray) Howard. Wayne was raised in the St Luke District with his siblings Thomas, Myrna, Murray and John (Wayne lost a twin brother Terrance, in infancy). In September of 1957 he married Doris Scott from the Silverwood District. Together, Wayne and Doris raised their five children: Daniel, Walter, Gordon, Terry and Jacqueline. Throughout his lifetime he had various occupations. He started with farming and moved on to a steam engineer on the oil rigs, oil rig and long haul trucker, mechanic, school bus driver and charter bus driver ending with farming, which then led to retirement to Yorkton in 2017. Wayne was a hard worker who enjoyed live auction sales and was always willing to give a helping hand...anywhere, anytime. Over the years, he loved his many pets whether it was the family dogs, cats or any other critters that passed through the yard. He enjoyed the outdoors as well tinkering around the farm or in the shop. Sadly, due to a sudden decline in health, Wayne passed away on April 28, 2025 with family at his side.
Wayne will always be remembered by his wife Doris of 67 years; children Dan (Diane), Walter (Carol), Gord, Terry (JoAnne) and Jacquie (the late Carl Peter); grandchildren Diana, Michael, Kendre (Ben), Tonya (Dan), Luke (Alison), Brandon, Maria, Samuel and Jackson (Hannah); great grandchildren Kieran, Winnie, Elliot, Eli and Finn; as well as numerous family members and friends.
Interment took place at Forrest Farm Cemetery (13km north of Whitewood on Hwy#9, turn east at Chacachas Cree Nation sign (watch for sign), go 8 km to Rg Rd 2020, turn south at 1km to the cemetery) on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 9:30am followed by a Celebration of Life lunch at 273 Gladstone Ave South, Yorkton, SK (Yorkdale Central School, south entrance).
