Vernon James Aichele

Vernon James Aichele was born on August 11, 1939 at the Yorkton Union Hospital to Edward and Edna (nee Schrader) Aichele. He was the second son born into the Aichele family.

Vernon attended Willowbrook School.  He later started work at the Dairy Producers Poultry Plant; he then moved on to become a milkman delivering milk from house to house for twenty years.  In the early 1970’s he began working as a mechanic maintaining milk trucks.

In 1963 he married Deanna Zapshala daughter of Louis and Sophie Zapshala of Goodeve, SK.  They made   their first home in Yorkton for a while. They then moved to Fone Hill where they resided for ten years. 

Vernon and Deanna moved to Yorkton in 1975 this is where they made their ‘Forever Home’, raising six children until they reached adulthood.

Vern worked with Dave Farrell at Farrell’s Auction for 30 years.  He then moved on to work with Doug and Carla Ukrainetz until his health started to decline.  His declining health did not stop him from playing with his toys, his John Deer tractors, tilling gardens and removing snow.  

Vern enjoyed going for coffee with his friends and you know who you are on coffee row. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.

Vernon was predeceased by his parents Edward and Edna Aichele; two sisters Gloria and Beatrice; his father and mother in law Louis and Sophie Zapshala; and by his best four legged friend buddy, Pepper.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-eight years Deanna; his six children Kelly, Sherry (Renaud), Jemaine (Ken), Robin (Brenda), Mick (Deb) and Megel; his grandchildren Daylene (Cameron), Alesha, Samantha (Neil), Arron (Isabel), Benjamin (Marissa), Christabel (Henry), Sophia, Icy, Kaylee, Meagan and Arinna; six great grandchildren Rylan, Cora, Adalynn, Olivia, Prudence and Connor; his brother Norman (Sylvia); two sisters Shirley (Nick) and Ivy (Taris); as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

We will miss you every day Vern and we know that you are watching over us.
