Sharon "Paulette" (Propp) Namaka

1946 ~ 2023 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Obituary

Sharon “Paulette” Propp was born on November 2 1946 to Molly (Amalia) and Scotty (Gottfreid) Propp.  Paulette Spent her early years living on the farm in Rhein Saskatchewan until 1952 when they moved to Yorkton Sk- house and all. Paulette cherished her early life and home in Rhein and spoke fondly about her first home frequently throughout her lifetime.

Paulette attended grade school in Yorkton and continued her education with a music degree at Luther Collage in Regina. Paulette being naturally passionate about music from an early age, her parents gifted her a piano and that would become her most prized material possession. She not only played and practised her craft on an almost daily basis till the time of her sudden death, she even renovated her houses throughout her life to accommodate the beautiful instrument.

The late 70's and Early 80s were the most flourishing time in her life. This is when she became a mother to son Scott and married the love of her life Sam Namaka. She enjoyed many seasons with family at the cottage at Madge Lake Sk.

In 1986, the Namaka family of 3 moved to Swan River Manitoba. She worked many years at the TD bank and then at The RCMP detachment. Paulette passed on her musical legacy to many students in the Swan River Valley teaching piano. She was honoured and took great pride in passing on her musical talent and knowledge.

Sadly, Paulette was widowed at a young age in 1996 when her husband Sam tragically passed away. Paulette sold their dream house and moved back to Yorkton where she found comfort being back in the same town with her parents whom she was very close with. She continued passing on her musical talent teaching piano in the Yorkton area for many years. She retired as a medical transcriptionist at the Sunrise Health Region in 2010.

Paulette Spent her retirement years caring for her aging parents until the passing of her father in 2018 and the passing of her mother in 2022. She was also dedicated to the Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton where she shared her musical passion as one of the organists. Paulette became a Grandma in 2017 with the birth of Ryleigh Jade. She thoroughly looked forward to and enjoyed meeting with her friend groups, lunches, coffee dates and phone calls.

Paulette was predeceased by husband Samuel Namaka, her grandparents George and Margaret Propp, Henery and Olinda Weber, her parents Amalia and Gottfreid Propp. As well as many uncles and aunties, cousins and friends.

Paulette is survived by her son Scott Namaka, daughter- in law Shyla and grandaughter Ryleigh Jade as well as many cousins and friends.
