Pauline Krall

 On Friday, February 4th, 2022 Paulena Annie Krall (nee Manz) of Yorkton, Sk and former Punnichy resident, passed away at the age of 88 years. 
Lena was born Nov 22,1933 to Fred and Julia Manz (nee Wideman). She was one of 4 children raised on the family homestead in the Arbury district South of Gordon's Reserve. In her teen years the family moved to British Columbia, but returned to Saskatchewan and resided in Regina where she worked at the Western Drygoods Company. She had a passion for music and singing, and it was through her uncle Johnny Manz's band “The Radio Rangers” she met her sweetheart Alex Krall who was one of the band members. They later married and farmed South of Punnichy where they raised their sons Jerry and Stan, and later resided in Punnichy where they raised their daughter Darla. 
Lena was a adventurous, high spirited, energetic woman, who was always on the go. She was the glue that held everything together. If something needed to be fixed, she fixed it, or some task needed to be done, she did it.
There was no challenge that she wasn't able to take head on and accomplish. Everything thrived around her; from farm animals she cared for, to a mother duck and her little ducklings that happened to stumble upon her doorstep that she helped nurture, to other stray animals that needed care, to her plants that thrived with her green thumb. She took pride in her garden, especially her 5 pound potatoes, and her dinner plate size tomato! She always found a purpose for everything, she never threw anything out. She was creative and innovative. She would build things out of things she saved to make tasks work easier for her. Her sense of humour put a smile on our faces. She always had a funny story to share. 
Family was very important to her. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grand children, step-grandchildren, siblings, relatives, friends and her little pug Princess.
A graveside service to celebrate Paulena's life will be held at the Punnichy Community Cemetery commencing at 2:00 p.m. on June 25th, 2022. The celebration will be followed by the interment of the ashes, then a lunch in the hall. Everyone wishing to attend will be welcome.
