Patricia Holick Obituary

It is with immense sadness that the family of Patricia Holick announce her passing in the early hours of April 4th 2025 at 79 years of age. Patricia passed away at the Lakeside Manor Care Home in Saltcoats, Sask. with family by her side.

Patricia was born on July 2nd 1945 on the family farm near Whitkow, Sask. to parents Antona and Morris Kindrachuk. She was the youngest of 3 children.

Patricia married her dear husband, Mike Holick, on June 8th 1963. They shared 37 years of marriage before Mike’s passing in September 2000. Pat, Mike & the family lived in Saskatoon in their early years, but eventually settled in Bredenbury, Sask. It is here that Pat built community & raised her 4 children: Brent (Barbe), Brenda (Don), Barry (Lori) & Bernie (Angela).

Patricia eventually moved to Yorkton where she made wonderful connections that kept her busy and enjoying life. She could be found in her garden, volunteering at church, having Friday night card games with friends, attending senior dances & cooking for her friends and family. Patricia’s passion for cooking led to a celebrated career, most notably at Humpty’s Restaurant in Yorkton.

Patricia & Mike were blessed with 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Karen (Brennan), Allysha, Nicole (Kevin), Chelsea (Alec), Glen (Cheyenne), Mitchell (Sarah), Morgan (Heather), Kendra (Cyler), and Logan. Patricia was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren with whom she was absolutely in love. Her grandchildren & their families brought so much love & joy to her life.

Patricia is predeceased by her husband Mike, parents Antona & Morris, brother John, parents-in-law Walter & Mary, grandson in-law Dylan, many brother & sister in-laws, nieces & nephews. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a brother, several sister & brother in-laws, nieces & nephews.

Patricia will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness, her deep love of family, her sense of humour, her ability to bring everyone together and for the lessons she was always willing to teach in the kitchen or in the garden. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service for Patricia was held on Saturday April 12th, 2025 at St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, Saskatchewan at 10:30 am. Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery. Lunch at St. Gerard’s followed internment.

Should friends so desire, donations can be made to the Lakeside Manor Care Home in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan or Morris Lodge in Bangor, Saskatchewan.
