Mildred Thiele Obituary

The family of the late Mildred Thiele age 79, beloved wife of the late Ferdinand Thiele of Yorkton, SK sadly announce her passing on February 16, 2022 in Yorkton, SK.

Thiele, Mildred (Huber) was born in Grayson, Saskatchewan on December 4, 1942 and passed away on February 16, 2022 at the age of 79 years.

Mildred’s family lived in Grayson until moving to a farm just south of Waldron.  The family then moved into Waldron in 1951 when Mildred’s father was employed with the CNR line there.

Mildred married her soulmate Ferdinand (Ferd) in July 1961, and they shared many wonderful years together.  Family was the most important thing to Mildred, and she was a loving wife and caring, devoted and wonderful mother.

After retiring from the farm, they enjoyed traveling to various locations including Hawaii, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica, Atlantic Canada, Alaska, and Nashville to name a few.

Some of Mildred’s favorite hobbies/pastimes included bowling, dancing, puzzles, baking and cooking for the ones she loved, knitting, playing cards, watching curling and baseball games on TV, listening to the Polka Party on the radio and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.  Mildred was a dedicated volunteer and served on many boards throughout her lifetime.

Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Ferdinand Thiele; her parents Adolf and Eda (Lang) Huber and siblings. Isidor (Jim) Huber, Gerald Huber, and Brian Huber; in in-laws, Clifford Barr, Frank and Sophie Thiele, Mary (Wesley) Roberts, Benedict (Audrey) Thiele, Ann (George) Kolebaba, Edward (Gwen) Thiele, Walter (Margaret) Thiele, Helen (William) Ludwar and Ewald Thiele.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cheryl (Scott) Brigham, Murray (Debbie) Thiele, Laura (Bill) Gray, and Gerry (Laurey) Thiele as well as fifteen grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren; siblings Alvin (Marlene) Huber, Audrey (Charles) Hollinger, Darryll (Elena) Huber, Darlene Barr; in-laws, Rose Huber, Pauline Huber, Eva (Bruce) Chopping, Ernest (Marlene) Thiele and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Prayer Vigil will be held on March 3, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church Yorkton, SK.

A Funeral Service will be held on March 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Louis Nguyen officiating.

Interment to follow in Yorkton Memorial Gardens Yorkton, SK
