Margaret "Marge" Yanish Obituary

The family of Marge Yanish sadly announce her passing at the Yorkton District Nursing Home at the age of 83.

Marge was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on October 5, 1941 to parents Lloyd and Margaret (Hepburn) Sherwin.  Marge married Peter Yanish on January 30, 1960 in Yorkton.  They moved to Regina and welcomed their three children: Lloyd, Linda and Lee.

Marge worked at Safeway in Regina while they raised their family.  In 1974, they moved to their farm near Melville. Marge enjoyed working at Northeastern Seed as well as running her own small greenhouse called “The Bloomin House”.  Marge’s passion was for nature, growing flowers, farming, and the Roughriders.  She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.   In 2002 they retired to Yorkton following Marge’s stroke.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children Lloyd (Giselle); Linda (David Padar); Lee (Leah); grandchildren Josh (Natalie) Padar, Cara (Brandt Prince) Padar; Matthew (Michaela) Yanish; Juliet Yanish; and great-grandchildren Savanna, Liam, Noah, Skyler, Damien, and Willow; sisters Myrna Jamont, and Marlane (Bob Hay); many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as nephews and nieces.

Marge is predeceased by her loving husband Peter Yanish in 2010; parents Lloyd and Margaret Sherwin; and brother Keith Sherwin.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the wonderful care given to Mom at the Yorkton Nursing Home.  A special thank you to Dr. Vanheerden and the multitude of amazing staff at the Malinowski house.

A private celebration of Mom’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Yorkton and District Nursing Home- attention recreation department.
