It is with heavy hearts that the family of Manuel De Jesus Flores announce his sudden passing on January 30, 2024.
Manuel was born on February 25, 1952, in Chalchuapa, El Salvador. He was a very studious young man, graduating top of his class in his country. Manuel went on to receive his teaching degree and masters in languages.
In 1980, Manuel married the love of his life, Lidia Vindel-Escobar. They welcomed their first daughter, Helen in 1982. Manuel had a dream to relocate to Canada, so Manuel applied and in 1983, the family packed up one suitcase and flew to Yorkton, SK.
Manuel and Lidia welcomed another daughter, Becky in 1986 and a son, John in 1987. Manuel had several jobs before returning to school for his special care aid and then worked several years at the Yorkton District Nursing Home. In his retirement, Manuel spent his time doing yard work, enjoying coffee with the neighbors, playing the guitar, learning about the world and new languages, spending time with his grandchildren and getting his daily exercise.
Manuel's role changed in 2016 with the birth of his first grandchild, Moustapha. He was his pride and joy. In 2021, his beautiful granddaughter Kanza was born. She was his princess. They brought him great laughter and joy playing in the backyard.
Manuel will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lidia, daughter Helen [Jesse] Ferridge, daughter Becky [Nasreddine] Azaiz, grandchildren Moustapha and Kanza Aziaz, son John Flores [Michelle Brisson], sister Dora Flores, sister Reyna Flores and many other family and friends.
A private ceremony will be held to celebrate Manuel's life with immediate family.
