Lennart Steiner

Lennart passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Esterhazy with family at his side. He was 85 years of age.

Lennart was born on April 4,1940  on the family farm, northeast of Marchwell, Saskatchewan. The son of Walter and Catherine (Queenie) (nee Miller) Steiner.

Lennart attended elementary school in Marchwell, Saskatchewan and then continued his education in Bjorkdale, Saskatchewan, all while helping his uncle Henry on the farm.

Lennart spent most of his life working for I. M.C  Potash at the K-2 plant underground as a laborer, and later acquiring his journeyman’s, mechanic certification.

Lennart enjoyed hunting, fishing, crafting things from wood as well as traveling. Lennart was active with AA and its sponsorship program and just celebrated his 48th year of sobriety on October 16, 2025. Lennart was known to travel to many surrounding communities within Saskatchewan and Southern Manitoba always willing to help someone in distress.

Lennart loved and cherished his family so much that there was never a city or town too far to be traveled.

 His precious little granddaughter held a very special place in his life. She made his face and smile light up from within whenever she was near.

Lennart leaves to celebrate his life, his stepdaughter Marilyn, his children Dwain, Rhonda(Brent), Reena, his stepson Drew, his very special friend Kerri , his sisters Katherine, Alda, and Margaret;  his 5 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends.

Lennart was predeceased by his son Darcy in 2024 ; his parents, Walter in 1983 and Queenie (Mom) 2017;his brother Wallis 2019 and his sister Doreen in 2024.

In accordance with Lennart's wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
