Kenneth Fribance Obituary

In the midst of an unusual spring snowstorm on April 14th, 2022 Kenneth Robert Fribance passed away.  Ken was born on July 29, 1937 to Arthur Leslie Fribance and Floris Elena Fribance of Saskatoon, SK.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, his brother Art Fribance and young infant sister Margaret Ellen Fribance.  Ken is survived by his wife Trudy Sharp and his daughter Karen Foster (Terry), his son Glen Fribance, granddaughter Kristen Karp (Ben) and two great-grandsons Joshua and Jacob Karp.  Ken was also loved and supported by Trudy’s children Ivan Sharp (Millie), Warren Sharp, Joy DeGooijer (Bert), Sandy Chovin (Randy) and Crystal Aarrestad (Kelvin) and their families.

Ken worked as a Chemical Lab Technician for SaskPower at the Boundary Dam in Estevan until his retirement in April 1993.  He remembered with great fondness his time working in the lab along side a group of guys that he regarded as lifelong friends.

To know Ken was to know his enthusiasm for antique cars.  He was known to say “after they made the 1955 Chev Bel Air, they should have just stopped making cars because they could never improve upon that one.”

Ken was highly active in car clubs throughout the province.  Some of his best memories were those of the Provincial tours, road trips with the guys to various swap meets and of course sitting and visiting for hours with like minded individuals at various car shows.  Other favorite memories were spending time with his family, and enjoyed his time at his granddaughter’s family acreage as well as Good Spirit Provincial Park at the Sharp cabin.  He could always be found tinkering in his garage and having friends over for what he described as an afternoon of telling lies and having a few beers.

Ken was also an avid collector of many things like; stamps, license plates, old lantern style headlights, hubcaps and of course cars.

Ken was well liked by all who knew him and he will be missed.

Rest in peace and know you made a positive impact on all you met.
