Suddenly on Sept 21, 2018 at the Yorkton Regional Health Center, James Stanley Craig passed away.
Jim was born in Calgary and raised in Lomond AB. After meeting Bev when she was working in Alberta, they married, and while living in Vulcan started their family before moving to Rokeby to take up farming. They also lived for a short time in Wabowden MB before returning again to the Rokeby district. Jim held several jobs during his life including driving a semi truck, ambulance volunteer, farming and finally driving and owning a mail truck.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved nothing more than going to the cabin in the woods both summer and winter. He was a leader who was always there to help whether it was flipping pancakes, cleaning the snow off everyone’s cars for them or any variety of things. He was never happier than when he was doing something for someone else. He always took it upon himself to look after people and he will be sadly missed by the many he helped. No matter where he went he made many friends. The best description of Jim was that he was just a really good guy!
Jim was predeceased by his father and mother, Stan and Addy Craig as well as his father and mother-in-law Jim and Faye Sharpe, his brother and sister in-law Ron and Dianne Sharpe as well as his brother-in-law Laurie Jamont.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 60 years Beverly (Sharpe) and his two sons Grant Craig (Laurie) of Langford Station B.C. and Garth Craig ( Christine ) of Calgary AB. along with grandchildren Brian Craig, Karen Wilson, Susan Dutchak, James Craig, Stephanie Craig, and Jeremy Craig and nine great grandchildren.
Also mourning his passing are brother and sister in law Don and Linda Sharpe, sister in law Val Jamont and sister in law Delores Cantwell (Murray Cairns), seven nieces and nephews along with many, many friends including Jack Lowen and Jean Bryski who were always there to help.
At Jim’s request there will not be a service and friends who so desire are asked not to send flowers but instead to make a donation to a charity of their choice.
