Jessie Revet Obituary

The family of Jessie Louise Revet (nee Faulkner) announces her sudden passing on Dec 29, 2021.  She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was born Dec 9, 1940 in the Walpole district in southeast Saskatchewan to parents Joseph and Grace (nee Clay).  She had one older brother Lloyd.  Jessie loved playing sports in school and her passion for sports continued all her life as an avid fan of the Roughriders, the Blue Jays and many curling teams.  She was happiest the years she spent curling or bowling.

She attended a small country school which she traveled to via her horse Flicka.  A favorite story mom shared was when Flicka betrayed her with a whinny while mom was trying to hide in the bushes to skip school.  Grandpa Joe was close by and soon discovered a bashful Mom not wanting to go to school because she hadn’t finished her fractions homework.  Sadly, Jessie was just 18 when her mom passed away and she left home shortly after that to pursue work in Regina.  She met Marcel Revet at a hockey game in Fairlight. They married in April of 1963.  Marcel must have been excited to set off into married life for as he sped away from the Courthouse he was ticketed by a cop in the vicinity and the money they had been gifted for a washing machine had to be used to cover the fine.

Then the babies started coming; three handsome lads in just two years.  Her fourth son died in infancy.  Then her precious and only daughter, Michelle arrived.  Three more sons followed at a slightly less feverish pace than that of the first three. When Mark was born at St Anthony’s Hospital in Esterhazy, the nuns sent Jessie off saying “see you next year” to which she emphatically stated “oh no you won’t”!  Jessie showed those nuns, and she went to Yorkton to have Julian the next year.

Jessie was a busy, hardworking farm wife, doing all she had to in order to raise her children.  She would drive a combine with a baby on her knee or run back to check on the kids between milking cows.  She was an incredibly tough lady.  Later, once all the kids were in school, she started working at Wolfram’s IGA and then continued when Brown’s took over.  Don Brown trained Jessie in meat cutting and she would soon be tossing around sides of beef like a trooper.  Life continued on and the family has grown and grown.  She is survived by her husband Marcel, sons Robert (Tess), David, Rod (David), Garth (Deb), Mark (Lisa), and Julian (Stacey), and her daughter Michelle (Stephen).  She was blessed with many granddaughters: Marisa (Dylan), Jenna (Cody), Deanna (Spencer), Taylor (Connor), Emily, Destiny (Justin), Brittany (Dakota), Jessica (Brayden), Brooklyn (Evan), Emma, and Frankie.  There are two grandsons as well, Glenn (Danielle) and Evan.  Jessie’s five great-grandchildren are Gaby, Talan, Aiden, Hudson, and Elliot.

Jessie was predeceased by her parents Grace in 1958 and Joseph in 1985 as well as her older brother Lloyd in 2012.  Her in-laws Gaston passed in 1980 and Marie Anne in 1989.  Her infant son died in 1967.

The Revet family wants to express much love and thanks to Mom’s loyal neighbors, friends from church, and the Royal Estates community.  Your help and devotion are greatly appreciated.  Churchbridge became Mom’s home and she loved this community greatly.
