The family of the late Jayson Mitu age 46 years of Yorkton sadly announce his passing on November 13, 2021 in Saskatoon, SK.
Jayson Recolizado Mitu, known to his family and friends by his nickname “Eton” was born on February 27, 1975 in San Juan Rizal, Philippines. He was the son of the late Jonathon Mitu and Aurelia Recolizado, and the eldest of five siblings.
Jayson worked in Kuwait before moving to Canada. He arrived in Edmonton, AB in 2015, and then settled permanently in Yorkton, SK. He worked as a cook at Mr. Mike’s and at Pizza Hut. He loved to cook for his family and friends. Jayson was known to be loving, dedicated, patient, generous and hardworking; as well as “home buddy” to his loved ones and close friends.
On November 13, 2021 at the age of 46 Jayson passed away peacefully at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.
He is predeceased by his parents Jonathon and Aurelia, as well as his brother Albert. He is survived by his sons Mark Jason, John Mark, and Clark Jayden; brother Sonny Boy (Maribel), sister Racquel (Eman), sister Jonalyn, half-brother Rowell (Bernadette), half- sister Rhenxie; nieces Alliyah Zhaira, Caren Joy, Crystal Mae, Katrine Tracy, ; nephews John Vincent, Timothy John, and CJ.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday November 16, 2021 from 3:00- 5:00 and Wednesday November 17, 2021 from 9:00- 12:00 from the chapel of Christie's Funeral Home and Crematorium. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday November 18, 2021 at 6:00 pm from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church Yorkton, SK with Fr. Louis Kim Nguyen officiating.
