Heaven has gained another Angel.
It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, uncle, partner and friend Henry “Hank” Honcia.
Henry came into this world on January 19, 1964 to parents Stanislawa and (the late) Jerzy Honcia in Poland.
In 1977 at the age of 13 he and his family ventured to Canada to create a new beginning. He started grade 7 at St. Joseph’s Junior High and graduated from the Yorkton Regional High School. He then went to technical school to become a machinist. He worked as a machinist at RAM Industries for many years, but his true calling was working security at the Painted Hand Casino. He was surrounded by people that treated him family and always made him feel welcome. He shared many fond memories of his “work family”.
Henry was an avid angler and hunter; he had a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. He had many hunting and fishing adventures over the years.
His greatest joy during his later years was spending time in his large garden and greenhouse which he and his partner Myrna built together. He took great pride in his work.
Henry will always be remembered for his quick wit, good stories, big heart and his sense of humour. He always made friends wherever he went through his welcoming, inclusive and open-minded presence. He was a true patriarch to his family, which he loved more than anything. He will be forever missed by those who knew him.
Henry was predeceased by his brother Arthur Honcia, is father Jerzy Honcia and his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother Stella Honcia, his sisters Eva (Wade) Magnusson and Yvonne (Clint) Kindiak, his partner Myrna Yury and nieces and nephews Bryanne, Brandon, Ethan and Carson.
In lieu of other tributes those wishing to place memorial donations may do so to a charity of one’s choice, as well as hug those you love, as this time is precious.
There will be a private family service held at a later date.
My love, my soulmate, you are forever in my heart, I miss you so much Henry.
You were taken from me to young in life.
I will always cherish the memories we made together.
You will never be forgotten and as life goes on, I will always feel your presence.
Love your wife, Myrna
