Frances Patzer Obituary

The family of the late Frances Patzer beloved wife of the late Wilfred Patzer of Ebenezer, SK sadly announce her passing at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home on February 17, 2022.

Frances Ida Patzer (nee Horn) passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022 at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. She was 102 years of age. Frances was born October 18, 1919 near Springside, Saskatchewan, the daughter of Adolf and Matilda (nee Lutz) Horn. She grew up on the family farm and was the second eldest of six girls. On August 15, 1945 Frances was united in marriage with Wilfred Patzer. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters Patricia and Cheryl and their three sons, Darryl, Chesley and Robert. The couple made their home on a farm near Ebenezer. Wilfred and Frances faithfully attended Ebenezer Baptist Church. Frances taught Sunday school for many years and she helped with White Cross work. She was a woman of prayer, faithfully praying for families, missionaries, pastors, church and community members. Frances had a strong work ethic. She loved the spring time as she loved gardening and in the fall she preserved all her produce. Frances also loved flowers, especially petunias, roses and gladiolas. After her sons married, she shared her knowledge of homemaking with her new daughters and we were blessed to be taught by the best mom. Frances had the gift of hospitality and we all enjoyed her Sunday dinners. Mom was modest about her baking talent and said that her baking never turned out, but we as her family knew better! She loved making apple pies and they were the best! In 1985, Frances and Wilfred moved from the farm to the village of Ebenezer. Frances resided in Ebenezer until 2009 when she moved into Yorkton and made Queen Elizabeth Court her home. In 2019, Frances moved into Yorkton and District Nursing Home on Country Meadows where she resided until her passing on Thursday February 17, 2022. Frances was predeceased by her daughter Patricia, and her daughter Cheryl, and her husband Wilfred and son Chesley and grandson Alexander. Her life will be celebrated by those left behind: Her son Darryl (Colleen) their children Clinton Patzer; Carrie (Richard) Kyle, Avery and Aidan; Travis (Sherri) Patzer, Danica, Riley; Kathryn (Dallas) Lundell, Olivia, Emma, Alexa, Clara; Wyatt (Brydan) Patzer, Kallie, Maddox, Kenley; Her Daughter in law, Barb Patzer and their children Adam (Lindsay) Patzer; James (Erin) Patzer, Ellie, Ada; Her son Robert (Hazel) Patzer; sister Olive Patzer, brother in law Harold and Elaine Patzer, Sister in law Lyla Patzer and many nieces and nephews.
