Dustin Wagner Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dustin Jason Wagner – “Dusty” who left us on August 15, 2025 at the age of 46.

He was a beloved son to Gerald & Carol Wagner, a devoted father to his four grown children – Tyler, Taylor, Tanner and Madison, and their families.  He recently joined the “grandpa club” and was a proud grandpa to Boston.

Dustin was younger brother to Kelly (Ange), Clarence (Kim), and Shayne (Rachel).  He had many nephews and nieces who always called him “Uncle Dustin”, as well as a large extended family whom loved him, and many friends and co-workers who will miss him.

Dustin was known for his strong work ethic.  He was always busy with a project, using his hands and tools to get a job done.  He helped family members with many work projects.  He was an expert at measuring materials, whether for shingles, siding, or special yard project – there was never any waste.

Dustin was often quiet – thinking over things – but he had strong opinions and thoughts and was always up for a good “round table” discussion and visit – and always with a coffee in hand.  His last project was refurbishing a swing for Mom & Dads backyard.

Dustin was born in Langeburg, SK  in 1979 during a April snowstorm.  Grandpa & Grandma (Carl & Selma Jendrasheski) took Carol into town, where she could be closed to the hospital.  She was there a few days before “Dusty” arrived, and a few days after while the storm subsided.  The Dr. declared, “It’s another boy!”

He enjoyed his early years on his Dad’s farm by MacNutt, working with his brothers and learning his life skills.  He attended the MacNutt School – which he often reminded his family – “was a waste of time”.  He did not like school; However, he later went on to get his GED and a diploma in Heavy Mechanics – which he thrived at.   He was featured on Sask Colleges Success Story in 2013.

Some special things remembered by family members:  Dustin could eat a pot of potatoes and gravy in no time flat! Chips and dainties never lasted long around the Wagner table, he also loved a fresh cucumber sandwich.  Dustin always joked with his sisters-in-law often throwing his arm around their shoulder and teasing, with a silly chuckle.  Opi the “grand-dog” and neighbour loved Dustin and wanted to hang out any chance they had.  Opi will miss his buddy and early morning backyard and deck visits wont be the same.
