David Holstein Obituary

David Peter Holstein was born on 13 October 1981 at the Yorkton Regional
Union Hospital to Dale and Sherry Holstein.
David grew up on the farm, he was always helping and getting into
everything. Whether it was getting wood or helping grandpa in the
shop. David was always there to help. David was the oldest of the 4
siblings.
David attended school in Yorkton. Where he met his lifelong friends.
“The Boys” were always together whether is was at the local stereo
competition, paintball, fire pit parties, or at the farm configuring the car
they bought for cheap, or even just hanging at the house with the
parents. Even after graduation the boys have kept in touch and would
meet up from time to time, at a wedding, their kids hockey games or
just out for a coffee.
On March 6 th , 2006, David and Kathleen were blessed with their first
son Damion. On August 22, 2007, their second son Riley was born. The
boys were the apple of their dad’s eye. Everything David did was for his
boys. He was so proud of his boys, any day he was grumpy just ask how
boys or hockey was going and his mood would change instantly, and he
would be gleaming with pride as he would talk about a game or
whatever him and the boys had been up to.
David had a special place in his heart for his niece and nephews.
Whether it was playing cars with them, or having tea parties under the
table, David always made time for them. They could always go to David
when they needed, and David was always willing to help.
David met Natalie when he worked at Duncan’s Construction. Natalie
would often say to him, “Hey Grouchy, Smile ”, David would always
reply with “ I am smiling on the inside ”. David and Natalie started
dating in Sept of 2014

In recent years David enjoyed his free time on the side by side. He
would go out for tours on it. Out to his parent’s farm for coffee, out to
his brothers’ farms to go hunting or help him with a project and touring
out with Natalie and their friends.
David started at CN on May 22, 2017. He enjoyed his time there, and
always had stories to tell. He was the “dad” of the tool house, always
keeping the boys there in line.
David had a great sense of humour, whether it was sending memes to
his co workers on his day off, or making smart comments to his siblings,
he would make a good situation out of a bad one.
David is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Casey and Dorothy
Weenk, His paternal grandpa Benjamin Holstein, and his Aunty
Ramona.
David will be greatly missed by his boys Damion and Riley. His Parents
Dale and Sherry Holstein, sister Dominique (Tom) Hayden, Brothers
Brendon (Carol) and Bobby. His 2 Nephews Ethan and Pacey, and his
niece Serena. His partner Natalie Smith, her children Devon, Tristan,
and Victoria and His paternal grandmother Lorraine, numerous aunts,
uncles, and cousins. and his lifelong friends.
Forever Missed
