Daniel passed from this life to eternal life on the morning of June 13, at the age of 89 years at Yorkton District Nursing Home.
Daniel was born on Oct 15, 1933, to parents Gus and Emma Breitkreuz. One of nine children, brothers Ervin (Lillian); Alfred (Betty), Gordon (Wendy). Sisters Hannie Fichtner (Mervin); Hilda Mantay (Lawrence); Ruth Derow (Hector Riess); Joan Schirrschmidt (Tex); Grace Kopeck (Lawrence).
He met the love of his life Marlene Fenske and they married on August 27, 1954. He and Marlene bought land west of Springside and had a family of four, Royal, Marvin, Dean and Jaynelle. There he built his home and made a living by raising cattle and chickens, grain farming and driving school bus. He would get a job at Coop Dairy Producers in Yorkton until a job injury caused him to retire. He sold the farm and built a new home in Springside. He liked to tinker in his shed, garden, do yard work, go for coffee with siblings, and they took on the custodial job at the church.
Music was always a huge part of his life. He was active at Springside Baptist church and was faithful in using his gifts directing choir and singing with his family. A favorite pastime was listening to quartet music. In 2001 he, and sons Royal and Marvin, and Nik Derow produced a CD of quartet music called “His Own”
When they were ready to downsize, they moved to Erickson Place in Yorkton and attended Heritage Baptist Church. He and Marlene enjoyed making new friends and enjoyed condo living. Marlene lovingly looked after him until he needed more care and in 2022, Canora Nursing home became his temporary residence until he could be moved to Yorkton District Nursing Home and be closer to his wife and family.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Marlene.

Dan lived out his faith for the whole family to see, but above all, he never retired from sharing Jesus and showing a thankful, helpful heart of one who knew he belonged to Jesus. We thank you for coming to celebrate the life of our beloved Daniel. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Springside Baptist Church (209 Patrick St, Springside, SK S0A 3V0)
