Arnold Christopherson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold Christopherson on December 4, 2023, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Frank Christopherson, brother Melvin, son Armand and brothers-in-law Ed and Llyod. Arnold is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Irene (Duff); his children: daughter Kathleen (David), son Clifton (Cathy), his grandchildren: Greg (Heather), Eli (Maegan), Bailey (Aryn), Laura (Dallas), Eric, Braden, Logan, and his great- grandchildren: Emalee, Kenedy and Iris. Arnold is also survived by his sisters, Glennice, Geraldine, Lorlie and sister-in-law Eileen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Arnold spent his entire life in the Springside and Theodore area, farming the original homestead established in 1909. Arnold wore many hats(literally): husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, farmer, welder and welding instructor, custom combiner, inventor, builder, miner, gunsmith, and rum runner. He also spent many hours on his “cat” clearing land for himself and others, and he could fix darn near anything. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering in his shop.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christie’s Funeral Home, 121 Palliser Way, Yorkton, SK, Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 1pm. Following a short lunch at Christie Funeral Home, Arnold will be laid to rest in the Theodore Town Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Skinner Unit in Yorkton for their kind and compassionate care of Arnold over the last few of years of his life.

Donations, in memory of Arnold, can be directed to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Inc., 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
