Anton Malainey

The family of the late Anton Malainey age 93 sadly announce his passing on Sunday October 24,2021 at the Wynyard Health Centre.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 11:00 from the chapel of Christie's funeral Home and Crematorium Yorkton, SK.

Anton Malainey was born on February 1, 1928 on the family homestead near Wroxton SK., to parents Steve and Irene (Lushney) Malayny.  He was one of seven children.  Anton grew up on the farm and stayed there to work alongside his parents, then later he and his brother Fedor took over the farm from their dad.  The farm was mostly a grain and cattle operation. Anton and Fedor retired from farming in 1982.  It was at that time that Anton moved to Yorkton.

Anton is predeceased by his parents; brothers Fedor, Philip and Elie; sisters Mary and Nettie. Those left to celebrate his life are his sister Ann Obirek of Garson MB and his dear companion of 35 years Shirley Hay of Yorkton as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
