Annie Elizabeth Kormos

With sadness, the family of Annie Elizabeth Kormos, of Yorkton, announce her passing on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the age of 95 years.  

Annie Elizabeth Kormos was born March 20, 1928 in Stockholm, SK to Joseph and Anna Shivak. She grew up in Stockholm on the family farm with her 6 brothers and sisters.

Annie was united in marriage to Frank Kormos on November 24, 1947 at St. Elizabeth Church in Stockholm. The couple lived one winter in Hamilton, ON before moving back to Saskatchewan to farm in the Perley District outside of Saltcoats. Annie and Frank raised 5 children on the farm and after 33 years on the farm, they retired and moved to Yorkton.

Annie will be fondly remembered by her children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She leaves to mourn; her children, Dave Kormos, Lucy (Rob) Warren, Frank (Bernadette) Kormos, and Tracey Peterson; Annie’s sister, Evelyn Kotska. Annie was predeceased by; her parents, numerous siblings, oldest daughter Shirley Giffiths, daughter-in-law Linda Kormos, and Annie’s husband Frank Kormos.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home for the care they provided during her time there. 

Prayers were offered for Annie on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at 7:00 pm from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton.  

The funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:00 am also from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church.  

Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery.  

Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Annie's memory to the Alzheimers Association or to mass intentions for the repose of her soul.
