Terrance Grant Kentel was born on August 30, 1944 the third child born to Joseph and Alvina (nee Mack) Kentel with siblings Bernice and Dennis. He began his education in 1951 at Easter Lily School, situated on the southwest corner of their land. After three years he then attended Marchwell School until high school. High School had him bussed to Langenburg where he graduated in 1963.After completing high school Terry took his electrical pre-employment course in Moose Jaw. He worked two years at International Minerals and Chemical Corporation (IMCC) potash mine with Schentag Construction, then off to work for Cominco Potash near Saskatoon. From there, he spent three years in Kelowna, British Columbia at Brenda Mines. His electrical experience then had him returning to Langenburg where he was again hired by IMCC. He completed his career there until his retirement date of October 1, 2004 with 29.42 years of service.Terry loved the outdoors. In winter, he was on his skidoo and the rest of the year he meandered down back roads and trails on his ATV stopping in on friends and family.Fishing for Pinky was a passion. All year long, be it winter ice fishing or from his boat, you could find him silently casting for ‘the BIG ONE”. Owning a cabin at Round Lake for many years was his “happy place” where he spent hours from late spring to early fall. This gave him the opportunity to do all the fishing and boating that he loved so dearly. Cars were another passion for Terry. He owned a red Signet Convertible and a 1966 convertible Thunderbird. He restored and showed these vehicles in many car shows in Langenburg with pride. Up until last year you would see him take his yearly cruise around town in his ‘much loved’ T-Bird.Terry passed away in Regina General Hospital on August 12, 2019 after suffering many years from chronic renal disease. His kind, generous, loving loyality to his friends and family will be missed. Rest Easy Now Pinky!
