Rose Broda Obituary

Rose Francis Ann Broda peacefully passed away on January 21st, 2020 at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home and the age of 93.

Rose was born on August 12th, 1926 in Goodeve, SK to Joe and Sophia (Nee Suwala). She attended Evadale School near Goodeve, and the family then moved and she attended Maybridge School north of Pelly, SK.

Rose married Joe Dolff in February of 1944 and they settled in the St. Phillips area and raised their seven children, Nelson, Gerald, Marlene, Wayne, Charlene, Linden and Randy.

Rose worked as a cook, a school bus driver and in 1977 she moved to Yorkton, SK and worked at the Co-op restaurant and gas station until she retired in 1982.

She married John LaRocque of Roblin, MB in May of 1989, and John passed away in 1990.

She was involved in many activities through her lifetime, including dancing, playing cards, travelling, camping, visiting with friends and family, as well as watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when she could.

Leaving to remember many fond memories and times spent with Mom are Nelson (Deannie) Dolff of Brandon MB, Gerald (Denise) Dolff of Waterloo ON, Wayne (Debbie) Dolff of Mission B.C., Linden (Terry) Dolff of Maple Ridge B.C., Charlene (Ken) Lapitsky of Yorkton SK, and Randy (Judy) Dolff of Regina SK, as well as 12 grandchildren and spouses, 13 great-grandchildren, her Brothers, Sisters and many Family and Friends.

She was predeceased by her Mother and Father, Sophia and Joe Broda, Husband John LaRocque, her Daughter Marlene Hallett, 1st husband Joe Dolff, Friend Eli Borys, Sister Mary, Brothers Ray and Casmir, Sister-in-Laws Pat and Ruth, and Brother-in-Laws Joe, Lawrence and Andy.

There will be a Celebration Service held at St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at 11:00AM, with internment to follow at a later date.
