Dale Edward Martin passed away peacefully on March 9, 2018 at Saint Peter’s Hospital in Melville, Sk at the age of 70. At his bedside was his loving wife, Barbara Martin and daughter, Karina (Donny) Fong at the time of his passing. He was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on 11 June 1947 to Edward and Helen Martin. Dale grew up in Manyberries, and Lethbridge, Alberta.
Upon graduation in Lethbridge, Dale went on to work for the Royal Bank of Canada. He worked for varies banks throughout Alberta. In June of 1969, Dale meet Barbara in Bashaw, AB. They were married in May 1972 in Rimbey, Alberta. They moved to Pincher Creek shortly after they were married. Throughout, their 45 years of marriage, they lived in various cities such as Calgary, Red Deer, Three Hills, Lethbridge, Winnipeg and Melville where Dale retired from Saskatchewan Crop Insurance on 31 July 2015.
In 2010, Dale became involved with the Melville Library and was Chairman of the library board until February 2018. Reading was one of Dale’s passions, he could always be found with his nose in book. When he wasn’t reading, he enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Flyers, the Calgary Stampeders and enjoyed listening to classical, opera and jazz.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Martin, daughter Karina (Donny) Fong, sister, Linda Seely, brother, Gordon (Debbie) Martin, sister in law, Bonnie Kubitza. Along with his nieces Marja (Lachlan) Mackenzie, Andrea (Jeff) Brodowski, and nephews Mark (Amie) Kubitza and Reece (Maitri) Seely.

Celebration of Life will be held for Dale on 28th of April 2018 at German Heritage Club, Saskatchewan Drive & 5th Ave W, Melville, SK from 2-4pm. The family asks that you come in your favorite t-shirt and jeans as Dale always collected t-shirts from where ever he went.
