Albert Mitu Obituary

Albert Recolizado Mitu, known to his family and friends by his nickname “Betbet”, was born on June 10, 1976 in Sta. Ana Cagayan Valley Philippines. He was the second child of five siblings. He was the son of the late Jonathan Mitu and Aurelia Recolizado. He married his loving wife Alnahar Ammad Sahibul Mitu when he was 29, on January 29, 2005 in Quezon City Philippines. They were soon blessed with a daughter, Alliyah Zharia, who is now 13 years old. He worked in Dubai and Qatar for five years before moving to Canada. He arrived in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Canada in September of 2012. He worked in KFC, Humpty’s, and Coliseum Restaurant and Canpulse Foods. In July 2015, he moved to Yorkton and worked at Melrose Place before moving on to be an operator at TA Foods and working part time at Boston Pizza as a kitchen helper. He loved to cook for his family and friends. Albert was knows to be loyal, loving, dedicated, patient, generous and hardworking as well as “home buddy” to his loved ones and close friends.

On April 15, 2018, Albert passed away peacefully at the age of 41 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, surrounded by his loved ones. He is predeceased by his parents, Jonathan and Aurelia. Albert is survived by his wife, Alnahar, daughter Alliyah Zhaira, brother Jason (Dahlia), Sonnyboy (Maribel), sister Jonalyn, half-brother Rowell (Bernadette), half-sister Rhenxie, nieces Caren Joy, Crystal Mae, , Katrine Tracy, nephews Mark Jason, John Mark, John Vincent, Clark Jayden, Timothy John and CJ. Public viewing will be held on Friday April 20 from 7 pm to 9 pm and Saturday April 21 from 1 pm to 8 pm at Christie’s Funeral Home, 121 Palliser Way, Yorkton. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 from 7 pm to 8 pm in St Gerard Roman Catholic Church Yorkton with Fr. Louis Kim Nguyen as officiating clergy. Cremation will follow the service.

The family will accept monetary donations in lieu of flowers.
