With great sadness the family of Albert Derkatch announces his peaceful passing on March 13, 2018 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. He was 78 years of age.
Albert was born July 23, 1939 in the Mullock/Stornoway district, the son of Anton and Lena (nee Koroluk). He grew up on his parent’s farm and received his educations at Luzan School.
On July 15, 1967 he was united in marriage to Diane (nee Achtymichuk) and the union was blessed with one son, Dean. They resided in Yorkton where Albert worked for Atlas Concrete and worked part time helping out his parents on the farm. He loved farming and continued doing so until his health started affecting his work.
He enjoyed fixing farm equipment, spending free time in weekends to do some fishing, in the winter months skidooing and travelled to the U.S.A. in the summer time.
Albert was predeceased by his parent Anton and Lena and many of his aunts and uncles. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his wife Diane, son Dean (Winnipeg), sisters Joyce Gross (Yorkton) and Darlene (Coling) Robertson (Saskatoon), sister in law Rose (Bob) Brodsky (Kelowna), brother in laws Larry (Margo) Acytymichuk (Saskatoon), David (Joyce) Acytymichuk (Calgary) and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
